This is the privacy policy of Janice Morrison’s 2026 campaign for Mayor of Nelson. It explains what this website collects, why, and what happens to it.
Who we are
Janice Morrison’s campaign for Mayor of the City of Nelson in the October 17, 2026 general local election. Her financial agent is M. Stacey. You can reach the campaign at 250-505-3441 or elect.janicemorrison@gmail.com.
What we collect
Only what you type into this website’s two forms:
- the contact form: your name, your email, your phone number if you give it, and your message;
- the donation form: the amount, your full name, your home address, your email, your phone number if you give it, and your three declarations.
The site has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies.
Why
To reply to your message, and to record donations as British Columbia’s Local Elections Campaign Financing Act requires, including in the campaign’s disclosure statement to Elections BC. Elections BC makes disclosure statements public.
Who can see it
Janice, and her financial agent for donation records. The website is built and hosted for the campaign by Transform Your Org, which receives the form submissions in order to run the site and sends each one to the campaign by email. Transform Your Org doesn’t use them for anything else.
Where it’s stored
Form submissions are stored by Netlify, the company that hosts the website, whose servers may be outside Canada. Each submission is also emailed to the campaign’s Gmail address.
How long we keep it
After the election, the donation records go to Janice’s financial agent and are then deleted from the website’s host, by the end of January 2027. Contact messages are deleted from the website’s host by the same date.
British Columbia’s election rules require a campaign’s financial records, including donor information, to be kept in British Columbia until five years after general voting day. The financial agent holds the donation records until the campaign’s disclosure statement has been filed with Elections BC, and then Janice keeps them until October 17, 2031.
